Emily is Deputy General Counsel for the Australian Institute of Marine Science, based in Townsville. Emily brings a perspective of a government lawyer working in a remote location with limited access to resources and networking opportunities. Her experience with a Corporate Commonwealth Entity (CCE) will enable her to ensure that a whole of government approach is adopted. She understands transitioning back to the workforce and a government legal practice after taking time off to care for children.
Emily has worked in both private and government legal practice and can provide views on improving the attractiveness of government legal practice. She is passionate about creating capability through personal growth, development, and succession planning as well as creating capacity through improving efficiency and effectiveness of in-house legal services.
Emily looks forward to this exciting journey with her fellow Board members.
